Chamber presses work in a periodic manner. By the pressure exerted on the pumped medium (sludge), it flows into the filtrate flow and the formation of the sludge cake. The degree of separation of the liquid and solid phase is practically 100%.
The sediment filtration cycle consists of:
- closing the filter plate assembly and achieving the maximum closing pressure,
- sediment filtration,
- emptying the press,
- opening of press clamping and sliding plates with simultaneous precipitation,
- restart the filter cycle.
